Emergency First Aid At Work (EFAW)

A 6 hour Emergency First Aid at Work course aimed the workplace minimum requirement. This course is accredited through ITC First our Awarding body and complies with the HSE syllabus and is suitable for all workplaces.

Employers must make sure employees get immediate help if taken ill or injured at work.
The law applies to every workplace and to the self-employed.
You must have:
• a suitably stocked first aid kit
• an appointed person or people to take charge of first aid arrangements
• information for all employees telling them about first aid arrangements”

If the risk assessment indicates that employees may be faced with life-threatening incidents where they have to manage the casualty for up to 10 minutes, or deal with very minor incidents that will not require medical assistance, then the Emergency First Aid at Work course meets this need.

Topics include: 
Roles & responsibilities of the first aider 
Assessing incidents safely 
Dealing with collapse (with and without breathing)
Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Choking
Bleeding
Shock
Seizures
Burns and scalds
Minor workplace incidents
Using first aid kit.
This qualification is designed to provide essential life saving skills. Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical and the course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance
