Outdoor First Aid Emergency Action

A 1 day (8 hour) course aimed the workplace and outdoor worker. This course is accredited through ITC First our Awarding body and is suitable for all outdoor workers and workplaces.

The course content covers

This 8 hour course consists of the 1st unit (1st day) from the 2 units of the 16 hour 2 day Outdoor First Aid Course.:

Unit 1 - Outdoor Emergency Action

Topics include:
Roles & responsibilities of the outdoor first aider
Dealing with collapse (with and without breathing) 
Choking 
Dealing with major bleeding
Shock 
Major illnesses and conditions such as Asthma, Anaphylaxis and Diabetic emergency 
Torso and limb injuries 
Bites, stings and poisons
Heat and cold injuries
Using first aid kit, 
Outdoor specific scenarios 

Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical, with elements occurring out of doors in outdoor clothing and on various terrain. The course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance
